Teaser version of Aaron Chang’s presentation at Surf Park Summit 2 on September 7, 2016. A legacy artist in the surfing world, Aaron Chang is forging new directions in the art world while maintaining his core connection to his surfing heritage. Aaron will present a brief slideshow highlighting his work as a photographer and discuss his new direction as a leading ocean themed artist.
Aaron Chang is an award winning, internationally acclaimed artist whose work has been published all over the world in hundreds of books and magazines. As a visual force in defining the sport of surfing, Aaron was senior photographer at Surfing magazine for 25 years. “People always ask me who the best surf and ocean photographer is,” says Surfer’s Journal magazine photo editor Jeff Divine, “and I’ve always said it was Aaron Chang.” From 2012 to 2016 Aaron Chang was voted “Best Artist” and “Best Gallery” by Ranch and Coast magazine readers, and was named by the San Diego Tourism Authority in 2015 as San Diego’s “Ambassador of the Arts”. An active member of his community both personally and professionally, Aaron contributes to many charities and serves on several boards of directors. Currently residing in north San Diego County, he is a loving husband and father of two boys and is, of course, an avid surfer.
